Mesothelioma Alterative Treatments

Mesothelioma is a cancer often caused by being exposed to asbestos that usually forms in the outer lining of the lungs, abdominal cavity or the heart area. The cancer is usually a result of people having had jobs with either installation of asbestos or the removal of it and not having adequate protection. In many cases where asbestos is present it does not present much harm but it is the removal or disturbance of such that causes the dust and tiny particles to become airborne and thus inhaled.

A Mesothelioma diagnosis is very bad indeed. This kind of cancer is one of the most damaging. There is no ultimate cure but typical treatments of Mesothelioma are surgery or chemotherapy but there are some alternative methods that people have used around the globe in trying to fight off this very dangerous cancer. Please note that these methods have not been approved by the FDA for their treatment against the disease.

Some of the more common include: Acupuncture, Herbs and diet, Ozone therapy, Homeopathy, Therapeutic massage, Antineoplaston Therapy, Immuno-Augmentation Therapy, Photodynamic Therapy, Far Eastern Medicine, and Gene Therapy. This however is not an exhaustive list but the more common alternative Mesothelioma treatments.

One recommended approach is to do what you can to strengthen your bodies immune system. Natural practitioners would most often make this claim for fighting any sickness or disease but it makes sense. This at the very least could help one prolong their life and quality of it. This comes from a diet rich in fruits and vegetables and even some supplements that are known to increase ones immunity. Vegetables with a dark green color such as spinach, broccoli, cabbage, along with garlic, onions tomatoes, carrots, peppers and fruits with high antioxidants in them such as goji berries and blue berries are said to help fight cancer. Also Iscador from mistletoe is being marketed as a cancer fighting herb. Basically a very healthy diet and one that avoids processed sugars, high fats etc. Talk to your health care provider or naturalist for more information surrounding these foods and supplements.

Above all, it is imperative to seek a qualified doctor's advice and instruction when taking any approach. It is not a good idea to hide any way of trying to improve your chances from your doctor. You may also find some conflicting information regarding a naturalistic/holistic approach compared to a western medicinal approach. But generally the basics remain, eating right and supplementing your diet with nutrients is typically not a bad idea as long as you do it with the guidance of a professional.
