Proper Use Of Meridia

Only take Meridia as directed by a doctor. Never take more Meridia than directed to and never take Meridia for a longer period of time than advised by a doctor. Taking Meridia too often or in too high dosage can increase unwanted and potentially dangerous side effects.

The effectiveness of Meridia includes eating a low-fat, calorie reduced diet and engaging in regular physical exercise.

Always follow a doctor's recommendations when taking Meridia, either with or without a meal.

Different individuals will be advised to take different dosages of Meridia. Those taking Meridia should follow the doctor's dosage recommendations or those on the Meridia label.

Meridia is available in different strengths, so only a doctor can advise an individual about how often take any particular dosage.

Average daily oral doses of Meridia for weight loss are as follows:

Adults - begin with 10 milligrams (mg) once a day, usually taken in the morning. A doctor may increase or decrease dosage over time, however, no more than 15 mg per day is generally recommended.
Children - Meridia is not frequently used with children and when it is, dosage will be determined by the doctor.

Any skipped dose of Meridia should be taken within 2 or 3 hours of the missed dose. If the period since missing the dose is over 3 hours, skip the missed does altogether and resume the regular dosing schedule. Never double up doses of Meridia.

Proper Storage of Meridia

• Keep safely out of children's reach

• Always store Meridia away from sources of heat and direct light

• Do not store Meridia in the bathroom or in damp places, such as near a sink. Both heat or moisture can cause Meridia tablets to break down

• Safely dispose of outdated or unneeded Meridia
